MedTech R&D Mission to Taiwan & Partnership Development Activity (PDA), Funding Available
Canadian SMEs are invited to express interest to participate in an upcoming MedTech Partnership Development Activity (PDA) Delegation to Taiwan to foster industry-led R&D collaborations in medical technologies. This PDA is made possible through the Canadian International Innovation Program (CIIP), an initiative of the Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) in collaboration with the National Research Council of Canada’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC–IRAP). The delegation will consist of no more than 10 Canadian SMEs with demonstrated capabilities in innovative medical and digital health technologies.

Types of Collaborations:
Applicants should be ready to pursue joint R&D projects with the goal of commercialization, such as:
Technology validation: New products that are not yet commercialized and require technical and business validation from potential early adopter customers.
Technology adaptation: Adapt commercialized products to reach a new market, in Canada or Taiwan.
Technology co-development: Creating a new product, service, or process combining Canadian and Taiwanese technologies
Eligibility Criteria:
Profit-oriented, small or medium-sized enterprise (less than 500 full-time employees) incorporated in Canada
Previous experience in commercializing technology for domestic or international markets
Capacity and interest in co-developing technology with Taiwanese partners
Committed to expanding activities to the Taiwanese market
Sufficient working capital and human resources to undertake multi-year R&D collaboration and commercialize the results
