Help define the next chapter of Canada's AI leadership

Help define the next chapter of Canada's AI leadership

Canada helped invent modern AI. To stay a leader—and protect our digital sovereignty—there is a 30-day national sprint to shape a renewed AI strategy. Inviting founders, researchers, workers, creators, students, public servants, and community voices to weigh in!

Since 2017, Canada's Pan-Canadian AI Strategy has invested in research, talent, standards, and commercialization. In 2024, the Canadian Sovereign AI Compute Strategy strengthened access to secure, made-in-Canada compute. This engagement builds on that progress to identify the next set of priorities.

Share your insights about where Canada should focus to:

  • accelerate safe adoption of AI across the economy and public services

  • scale Canadian AI champions and attract investment

  • strengthen sovereign infrastructure (compute, data, cloud)

  • build public trust, skills, and safety.

Following the national sprint, the government will review submissions and publish the highlights. A new strategy will be developed by the end of 2025.

How to participate

  • Respond to the survey or submit your comment by email to ised-isde@ised-isde.gc.ca.

  • The consultation is open from October 1 to October 31.
