File your Accessibility Compliance Report (ACR) by December 31, 2026

2026 is an important year for all businesses and non-profits with 20 or more employees. It is your legal requirement to submit an Accessibility Compliance Report (ACR) by December 31, 2026. This is also your opportunity to join thousands of other organizations across Ontario who are contributing to an accessible Ontario.

What is an ACR:

An ACR confirms whether you have met your current accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.

Businesses and non-profits with 20 or more employees are required to submit an ACR every three years, so it may be helpful to include this within your planning processes. Note: You are required to file your report by the deadline even if your organization is still not fully compliant. The Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility will work with you to help you meet any outstanding requirements.

What are your organization’s responsibilities:

The Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility provides a range of tools and resources to help you meet your obligations.

Visit the ministry’s Accessibility Rules for Businesses and Non-profits webpage to help you understand your organization’s legal requirements before you submit your report.

How to submit your report:

You need to submit your report through the ministry’s online Accessibility Compliance Reporting (ACR) Portal.

Helpful tools and resources:

Whether you are new to accessibility or have extensive experience making your business accessible, there are free accessibility resources that you can use.

These resources provide information about how to implement accessibility practices, hire people with disabilities and meet legal requirements.

Training for employees and volunteers:

Support to help you meet your legal training requirements for employees and volunteers is available through AccessForward - a website with training modules, templates and resources for trainers.

This free interactive tool allows your employees to undertake training at their convenience. Training can be done online, or you can download or print information and share it with your employees.

Stay informed on the latest news:

Stay informed by subscribing to the ministry’s quarterly accessibility e-newsletter called the AODA Toolbox. This provides accessibility updates, new resource information and success stories.

Being accessible is good for business:

Making businesses more accessible is easier and less costly than most people realize. And, reducing barriers for people with disabilities can increase market share by boosting your business’s reputation and providing access to a broader customer base and employee talent pool.

Thank you for helping remove barriers for people with disabilities and helping build a more accessible and inclusive province for everyone.

Contact the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility if have questions about your requirements or need assistance filing your report. You can also write to AODA.assistance@ontario.ca in case of any questions.

Submit your ACR by December 31, 2026.
